The Marmara Taksim Hotel Istanbul, Istanbul

The hotel is in a great location right on Taksim Square, which is excellent for strolling around the vibrant area. The rooms were not as expected, with limited amenities for two people, and the view was underwhelming. Despite the room shortcomings, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very new and spiffy with a large gym and a very nice Turkish hammam, offering brilliant views overlooking the sea and the square. However, the rooms, though extremely neat and clean, are rather small, and the housekeeping service could be improved as they did not change the bed sheet, provide towels for two persons, shampoo, or towels on some days.
